About Aknorals
Aknorals, Hermes bani Flambeau, is a Mage of the seventh degree from the Greater Land of Chicago. He has lived, barring vacations, in the same house his entire life, a rarity in an age where all have become nomads. He is also, barring Enochian, monolingual, although it is sometimes questioned if he knows any language at all. He has studied several topics formally, mostly assigning roads in some town of which he is currently not using on account of taking it easy. As his informal studies, he focuses on copyright, armchair ethics, memes, the early American history, and freedom. He currently works nights part time, for full time benefits.
When opportunity arises, he likes to put on his robe and wizard hat. He enjoys some moving pictures from lands where the sun originates, as well as static images from the same. He does not, however, discriminate against the same coming from other lands, he simply has less exposure to it. Regardless of medium or genre, he openly prefers what most call “large collections of things you don’t understand”, or more vulgarly, “mind fucks”. He also enjoys some forms of action shows where people go crazy, as well as having an interest in lilies from some Greek island. Privately, he watches and reads things about some person named Moe, and even some lecherous things (he doesn’t dare call them ‘dirty’).
He spends the majority of his time killing dudes and chewing gum, research, occult, creating and modifying alternative realities, writing in third person, and preventing the world from having four times four 24 hour days. He has the goal of converting one person a week to his ideology, and typically meets it to some extent. He likes real food, and disdains synthetic food that most people eat. This does not require that he eats little of it, or even that it is healthy. In fact, it has been questioned if he contains within himself a tapeworm, or if he has discovered a singularity. His own theory is that has a flame-powered engine inside. This can easily explain his proficiency with fire, but not his immunity to it. He also drinks, provided the situation follows one of three self-imposed rules. He has a wide collection of alcohol, except the crazy stuff that Azarius drinks; the main focus being whisky/whiskey. He does not smoke tobacco, and only tolerates it from a distance when not indoors.
He is a permanent bachelor, on account to his absurd standards, which his friends describe with disdain as “kind supermodel PHD who could beat him in a fight”. He does not savor the ‘loli-pops’, except very rarely the two dimensional kind. His religion is Haruhiism. He has no “waifu”, and worries about those that declare one.
His heroes are Thomas Paine and Lawrence Lessig along with some Founders and fictional characters, and Thomas Jefferson to a lesser extent (though he cannot agree with Jefferson on race). His enemies are reality and tyrants. He has three fears, of which he will tell you none. Never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down. Never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry. Never gonna say goodbye. Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

About Ikigami
I was born in Italy and live in Greece. I studied commerce, tourism, and programming, though the latter was useless, I am mostly self-taught. I currently work as an independent technical support for small tourism related businesses, I play travel agent in the summers, and freelance some articles from time to time.
My native language is Italian, but having being raised in Greece, my modern Greek is at the same level. I am also fluent in English and can read ancient Greek, some Latin and some French. I am also currently learning Japanese.
My hobbies include (but are not limited to) reading, writing, philosophy, Japanese culture and subculture, human psychology, quantum physics, science fiction, military history and many many more. My musical tastes are quite diverse, ranging from classical to smooth jazz, from punk to ethnic, basically whatever catches my attention and doesn’t kick me in the stomach (trance = OUT).
My political views are my own, but I am an advocate of free speech. I also believe that man has the inalienable right to be wrong, and that depriving him of his ability to do so is equal to denying him his basic human rights. I love a lively debate, and I can often being found to argue both sides of an issue just to keep the ideas flowing.
